He is the One!

One of our deepest longings is to be loved and cherished. We look for someone who would make us feel special and complete. We dream of the day when we can finally declare before our friends, “He is the one!”

This dream became real to me when I got involved in a relationship. My days were filled with joy and laughter as I spent them with him. He was God’s precious gift to me and I was really hoping he would be the one I would marry. But my hopes were shattered when the relationship suddenly ended.

The pain of losing him was unbearable because I had strong feelings for him during that time. We only agreed to end it because we knew it was best for us. The relationship was becoming destructive. He became my source of life. I depended on him to sustain me and relied on the love he could give me. Out of my desire to keep the relationship intact, I made foolish and selfish desicions that became the source of pain for him and my family. It was so important to me that I even allowed it to occupy the space in my heart that rightfully belonged to God.

It was never meant to give me life. “But anything which we cling on to give us Life apart from God will, sooner or later, become an adversary, because it just cannot offer us what it was never meant to.”

God is the only One who can give me life. And He finally had the opportunity to do that when the relationship ended. He comforted me during the adversity and began to occupy the empty space in my heart. As He lavished me with His love, it became easier for me to make Him my only source of life.

When the people we cherish love us, the joy it brings is immeasurable. But then it pales in comparison when placed side by side with God’s love for us. Only God is able to fulfill our deepest longings and make us feel complete.

God is our true Lover. He is the One!

Love the Lord your God with all your heart

and with all your soul and with all your mind.

  1. stubbornness is always the result of miserable life and broken relationship.
when i was in the relationship, i thought “this is it!” sya na…
i was even wishing that we will be together for the rest of our lives…
but hay….. mali ako…. umikot ang mundo ko sa kanya (kahit di ko siya nakikita o nakakasama), sobrang minahal ko sya…..
until i realized we were doing things that doesn’t pleases God…
Glory to God because i heard this website from perfect and i read “When God writes your love story”.
we end up the relationship and the sad part is we even cant establish our friendship at all..
but that experience taught me that “only to God can give us True Love (He has proven it through Jesus Christ) and real forgiveness

  2. yes!
Really God is the only one who can give us True Love.. We sometimes long for the warmth of having someone but hold on..
Still.. Our Glorious God is working on us..

  3. ..yah, Jesus is really the one… sabi nga, before we give our love away.. let us just enjoy falling in Love with Jesus! astig ang article sa taas.. sometimes we get used to a person and unfortunately, hindi na natin makontrol ang feelings natin..

but the fruits of the Holy Spirit involves “self-control”.. and yun nga, ok lang naman na ma-inlove but first let us just be satisfied with God’s loving arms, kasi, walang kapantay ang love na kaya nyang ibigay.. Ü

  4. yeah i agree that the only true love we have in our life is only our ALMIGHTY GOD.. “he is the one” .. so let us rule God in our life and he will be the center of our life..

  8. “God is the only One who can give me life. And He finally had the opportunity to do that when the relationship ended. He comforted me during the adversity and began to occupy the empty space in my heart.” – it reminds me of my emptiness last january 18. 2008..(my spiritual birthdate) it reminds me how loving God is..inspite of our shortcomings in life, at the end of our struggling in life, on a certain situation, you will find God, waiting for you to allow Him to control the wheels of your life. Nice blog, it reminds me how powerful God is that He can fill the emptiness that we feel as a human.
