Hide Your Love Away

There are plenty of beautiful songs out there about waiting, and this one is probably one of the best that would encourage you to wait. Hide Your Love Away is a song about purity. Purity in the sense that your worth is not based on what you have done in the past but on the decisions that you’re making today that will affect your future.

We all want someone to love and care for us, that we immediately fall for a person at the slightest hint of interest  without realizing that it can be a trap. A trap of going in and out of relationships from one person to another. A broken heart, one after another. We all want to make sense of what love is and how we can know it’s true and yet in our pursuit we still fail at it. Maybe because we’re looking for it in the wrong people, things, and places.

In the Bible, God shows how he pursues our hearts with passion and patience. Over and over, his people would disobey him, and yet he would come and rescue them. Over and over we ridicule God in our lives and yet he continues to be faithful. God is a loving and joy-giving Father. He wants to show us a better way in how we do our relationships. The joy that we think we can give ourselves by depending on our own strength, is no joy at all. Humans are the ultimate kill-joy of all time. God is the greatest joy-giver. That’s why he says, “Wait.”

That’s why we also say, “Wait.”

Pray for him. Pray for her. Pray for that person you will marry someday. Become the person that he or she deserves. You are worth the wait and worth readying for—and so is that person.

We all make mistakes and have different kinds of past behind us. Our past matters in some way but it doesn’t matter as much as today and the future. Your purity can start right now. And that begins with Jesus. He has come to make things new and cleanse us from our impurities. Whatever you are in the past, He can surely make you clean. You simply have to ask him of it.
