Forget about contraception pills for a moment and let’s talk about love potions in the form of a pill that might become a demand in your pharmacies in the near future. Researchers from Oxford University wrote a paper entitled Neuroenhancement of Love and Marriage: The Chemicals Between Us, proposing that,
“We should use our growing knowledge of the neuroscience of love to enhance the quality of love by biological manipulation.”
The researchers suggest that five chemicals (Pheromones, Testosterone, Oxytocin, Vasopressin, Entactogens) can help couples recreate the love they had for each other. The research was done in response to the growing commonality of divorce in the U.K. and the dwindling effectiveness of marriage counseling according to the Oxford students.
As young unmarried people, do you think this kind of “love pill” can actually help failing marriages? Can the quality of love be now enhanced by a love pill alone? Or is this just another attempt for an easy escape from the difficulties of marriage? What do you think? Would you take a love pill yourself? Tell us in the comment section.
