“I keep Love Real” is a call for a love that respects, that waits, that is made to last by two people maturing in love. Behind this tagline is the belief that real love consists in wanting only what is best for the loved one. Real love is not about getting sex or giving sex. It involves seeing the loved one not as an object of pleasure or a thing to be possessed but someone to honor and treasure…to respect and protect. It uses the pronoun “I” to convey the message that the choice to keep love real is personal – a free decision that cannot be decided on or imposed upon by a group. The call to Keep Love Real means remaining steadfast with what is right, nurturing trust, respecting the dignity of the other, being open to what is good, keeping relationships noble, and having the guts to do all these amidst great difficulties.
